Fun at the farm with April and Mel.
We decided at a weekend away in a rare time in-between lockdowns that we wanted to do a fun and creative shoot. We have been friends for several years and whilst sat down over dinner our other lovely friend and MUA Mel was just about to come off maternity leave and wanted to get her confidence back up after some time off from work so we thought what better way then be surrounded by friends and do a beautiful creative bridal shoot. We used Mel's sisters gorgeous location Alder Lake Farm which is an equestrian centre and indoor training arena with beautiful grounds and borrowed a dress from Lucy Can't Dance. We got shoes and accessories online from ASOS and flowers from Flowers 4 Worthing. We were all set! We took a bit of time getting ready as it was a glorious hot day and we wanted the light to be right. We then did a couple of different locations around the Farm and had so much fun at the same time. We are in a bubble but Mel also wanted to get used to doing make up in full PPE which is more challenging than it looks.

We used the side part of the barn to get ready and Mel did a fabulous job on April making her look fresh, glowing and rust so radiant. The Lucy Can't Dance Dress was a perfect fit and we went with white cowboy boots from ASOS and two different cowboy hats that Brandon from Flowers 4 put beautiful headpieces on as well as supplying us with matching flowers for April to hold. We started in the middle of the arena to give it a real cowgirl wedding vibe.

We then went to the barn and hung out with Bob, the gorgeous horse who was set on eating the flowers. We gave him some hay instead and he did his best supermodel impression. We were only trying to use natural light throughout the shoot and work with the surroundings. The extra flowers were from Mel's Mums back garden handpicked that morning.

Next we went to the lake itself and it is just so beautiful. The sun had now started to get lower in the sky creating a beautiful and warm vibe. We also took advantage of the beautiful slip dress and shot this on its own too. We loved the beautiful soft light over the lake and reflecting the trees on the other side. It is such a beautiful venue and if you do have a horse I highly advise going for a visit!
